After much deliberation, Chris and I decided to give cloth diapers "a go." I found one brand that seemed most promising: BumGenius. Isn't that a great name? The company is based in my birthplace of St. Louis, Missouri. These aren't like the cloth diapers of the past, which required pins (yikes!) and rubber outer pants. Although this isn't for everyone, we feel this is a responsible choice given the environmental and cost savings.We ordered 6 to start with, and they arrived yesterday. We washed one and tried it right away. The material is so nice against Kit's skin! It fits sort of like a disposable diaper. The diapers are adjustable for use now through 35 pounds. We went ahead and ordered 6 more and feel that we can commit to this eco-friendly practice. We'll keep you posted.
