During Kit's first year, I avoided giving her anything with peanuts. On Monday, I gave her a peanut butter cookie, and she had an allergic reaction. Within 2 minutes, Kit had hives all around her mouth. Scary! Benadryl cleared it up pretty fast, but please know that we're not going to try peanuts in any form again until she is at least 4 years old. Hopefully she will outgrow this--it looks like 20% of children outgrow peanut allergies. We'll have to watch labels closely.
