Book Review: Tightwad Gazette

I just finished reading Amy Dacyzyn's 3-book series, The Tightwad Gazette, available from the Marion Public Library. Although the books were published in the mid-90s, the information is still helpful for today. I wish I had read these years ago! The books are full of money-saving tips that helped me gain insight into ways we can be tighter tightwads. The writer's philosophy is that frugality isn't necessarily convenient, may require more time and effort, and has a pay-off. She presents ideas that stress fun and creativity rather than hardship and deprivation. I agree with Dacyzyn: "Preferring productivity over leisure is a hallmark of successful people."
